Guest guest
Okay, following this line of discussion: I watch Idol, but only towards the end when people who might actually have talent sing. I will also admit to being hooked on Project Runway, about the aspiring clothes designers. I watch Lost (but am in a love/hate relationship with it), Big Love, Brothers and Sisters, and I too was a big Six Feet Under and Sopranos fan, Zena. Often I only half-watch t.v., while my focus will be mainly on the computer. My main love is movies, though. I've been a movie buff since I was a child. I don't get to many anymore, so I depend mostly on Netflix. And you still can't beat a good book! Guest guest
Gwynnie... I really like Net Flix. I'm watching The House of Elliot right now. A wonderful 4 disc series. I like Idol too, when the competition gets going. I've grown tired of the "rejects" although they are funny! I like Project Runway too. I watch the Court shows and America's Next Top Model...How Not to Dress once in awhile. I like OPS and Discovery as well. And of course the movies! Something to pass the time, heh. Guest guest
Something that makes our lives better. I don't care what it is. It doesn't have to be the same for any of us, but we all need those things we enjoy. When we're able to get out, we need ones away from home. But, thank goodness as that becomes harder, we're able to have some at home. I hadn't thought about what a blessing Netflix is to many until mentioned today. For me, one is Rhapsody online, where I can just decide my musical mood and choose. With my wide tastes would take thousands of dollars of CD's. Also, someone else mentions a song, I can just pull it up and play it. To those who are still quite mobile, I'd say, be sure you develop some interests that you can really enjoy as you lose some of that mobility. While getting out needs to be a goal and nice, your home needs to be your comfort zone, even your paradise. And don't hesitate to enjoy whatever it is, whether its the Jerry Springer Show and you never admit it to your friends or playing with and talking to your Barbies from childhood. I doubt Sher has made a purchase in years that has paid back as much pleasure per dollar as Rosebud. > > Gwynnie... I really like Net Flix. I'm watching The House of Elliot right now. Guest guest
Bruce... You're right about Rosebud. She is a topic of conversation, I share her pictures, once in awhile I even speak to her! She is such a source of good fun. Something I didn't have much of when I was growing up. I know you enjoy your little 'babies' too. Guest guest
American Idol and the news are virtually the only programs I watch with an occasional National Geographics type show. Now my husband has been shopping, shopping, shopping to upgrade to High Def. Then, I asked 'Why'? He looked at me like I was crazy and said 'It will have a better picture.' and then I said 'Why would I want to see that junk any better it's still junk.' So, now after visits to Best Buy, and every other TV place, he has made a decision. Now he tells me we will be getting a few more channels with High Def. So, the only thing that interested me was whether we would be getting Bill Maher now or not. He says we will, so, I'll increase my TV watching by one show. > > Okay, following this line of discussion: I watch Idol, > but only towards the end when people who might > actually have talent sing. Guest guest
Gwynne, Total Project Runway fan here!! Unfortunately Time Warner doesn't carry Bravo which I find very odd so I've been watching the episodes a day or two late via the internet. The shows at Park were all yesterday. What I wouldn't have given to be there!!! Guest guest
I know, it is very weird. Time Warner in NC, no Bravo. Thank goodness for YouTube so I can watch the episodes. I'm going to have to do the same thing with Top Chef when it starts! Guest guest
With the writer's strike many shows are starting up as new online shows. Network Television executives have some real worries that as they already are battling with all the different channels on cable, now they could find themselves battling with internet TV. Think of it. I want to produce a unique, new show. I can fund it myself. I don't want to split dollars with a network nor conform to their desires. So, I just build my own website for my show, sell advertising, maintain total control. A few more people the move away from network tv. Already, there are shows that will not return from the strike, but just find themselves cancelled. There are others that will find they lost momentum and struggle and end up being cancelled. Fortunately, the strike is about to end. It had to. Otherwise no shows for May sweeps and season over. Both sides would have then lost big time. > > > > Gwynne, > > Total Project Runway fan here!!
