YES I noticed this too while on metho injections! I haven't taken them in years but I remember it well. It affected the taste of everything I ate. Almost a metallic sort of taste. Not like blood in your mouth, but almost like eating a quarter or something. It happened after my Cytoxin infusions, too.

I also noticed much worsening side effects while on injectable MTX. I was trying to attend school at the time and my injections were every Thursday; it got to the point where my teacher knew not to expect me on Friday because I'd be pretty much flattened all day, with awful muscle aches and vomiting. I never experienced this on the pills, only the injections. But my experience seems to be rare... from what I've heard here most people are the other way around and feel the pills are worse. So back to my mantra: it's all individual!

I was moved onto the injections of methotrexate today instead of the pills and noticed a very odd taste in my mouth after the shot - does anyone else have this experiance? I also seemed to have a really hard time concentrating for most of today - more so than on the pills. I thought I had read that the side effects were lessened on the injections but it definitely seemed a bit worse for me.

Sorry to hear that you are having those side effects .

How many pills were you up to before you switched to the shots?

Right now I am taking 8 MTX a week and increased the folic acid to 2 mg a day,

as the inside of my mouth and tongue are sore all of the time.

Are you taking a higher dose with the shot or the same dose as the pills?

I may eventually have to switch to the shots myself.
