Guest guest
Well, they had no question whatsoever about what I had, but I'm still anxious to see my new pulmonologist's take on whatever he's had a chance to read tomorrow or when we meet again. Although actually Dr. at Mayo was somewhat the typical not saying direct with " fibrosing interstitial pneumonia with low fibroblast focus activity and extensive microscopic honeycombing, these changes are compatible with usual interstitial pneumonia and may correspond to clinical idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. " Boy they just won't say it directly even when they do. > > Until today I just thought they took one section of your lung and > biopsied it. > > Now I find out they took two excisions from the upper lobe and one from > the lower lobe (did left lung so only two lobes). > > So, I was curious if anyone else know how many pieces they had stolen > while in a deeply drugged and paralyzed state. > > > > > > > > > brett bowser > brett@... > > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > Looking for last minute shopping deals? Guest guest
I'm intrigued Leanne, What did they disagree on & how did the diagnosis of UIP finally get made & by Who???? Right now I've decided TO HECK with a diagnosis after the Chief Guy in Brisbane said to me it wasn't worth doing another Biopsy 'cos it was 'academic' whether I had Fibrotic NSIP OR UIP.....well I did wonder why the blinkin' heck I wasn't considered suitable for the Bosanten III BUILD Trial if it was 'just academic'....I was refused entry to that BECAUSE the VATS didn't show a clear result......talk about CONFUSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I GIVE UP on all this mumbo jumbo...they can get back to me when they've worked out what causes what & when they know what to DO about it it that doesn't put you at dire risk of revolting, nasty side effects ....when they HAVE decided whats Arthur & What's Martha!!!!! In the meantime its a case of the old Aussie dictum "she'll be right Mate!" Tomorrow I'm off to the Markets in Hobart in an area down near the Docks called Salamanca 'cept everyone calls it Sillywanker...seems right somehow! We'll eat lots of yummy food (AGAIN) watch the musos busking, take in all the colourful clothes stalls, hang out on the sunny lawns in front of the Tasmanian Parliament just nearby & then on the way home go check out some horses fro Ahli. She wants a nag of her own to trail ride, canter & jump with! Guest guest
Don't want to make it an annual event? I had three as well. I also read recently why they are doing three instead of just one. They apparently found instances, although much discussion still over this issue, of patients having either signs of or actually having UIP/IPF and NSIP in the same lung. They would show one in one lobe and the other in the other lobe. Others were just getting inconclusive results so three sections stand a much greater chance. I figure I had three pieces evaluated by two distant and separate pathologists so six for six unanimous is pretty convincing. > > > > > > Until today I just thought they took one section of your lung and > > > biopsied it. > > > > > > Now I find out they took two excisions from the upper lobe and one > > from > > > the lower lobe (did left lung so only two lobes). > > > > > > So, I was curious if anyone else know how many pieces they had > stolen > > > while in a deeply drugged and paralyzed state. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > brett bowser > > > brett@ > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > --------------------------------- > > > Looking for last minute shopping deals?
