Guest guest
Hi all, I called my pulmo doc today to see if he was going to be back in time for my appointment next week on the 13th. Receptionist said, " Oh, great, what is your name? We were just calling everybody to reschedule. " She gave me an appointment for March 31!!! I could not believe it!! Here I sit with a right sided pleural effusion and bilateral pneumonia and no one to see me. I tried to call my daughter's family doc she has here and they do not accept Aetna. So I either have to try and find another family physician (who is probably going to send me the pulmo docs in ) OR I can call my previous family physician who was already in , fill him in on the details and maybe he could just refer me straight on. I just don't feel healthwise for me it would be safe to wait until March 31!! Does anyone else think I am totally off my rocker for being so upset or is it just me? I have had another low-grade temp all day today and just achy all over. My cheeks are rosey red and I have had cold chills all day. Plus there is this nagging pain in the middle of the right side of my back that won't go away. I finally broke down about an hour ago and took another Lorcet Plus. It is easing up somewhat, but now I just want to go to sleep!! I haven't taken one in 4 days. I was so proud of myself. What a bummer!! The pain is nagging but really bad when I take that deep breath, and semi-bad even with short breaths. I am at my wits end as to what to do. I really don't want to have to keep going to the ER every 3 or 4 days until he decides to come back to the good 'ole USA, ya know? I would surely appreciate any wisdom at all from any of you out there as to what I should do. When she told me my reschedule date, I just burst into tears as soon as I hung up the phone. She did tell me to call back Monday week and see if they knew anything else and since I already knew my disease was end stage, they would work me in first when he gets back.
