seamont, some of your symptoms made me think of thyroid storm and it is

precipiated

by RAI. The only person I know who had it, my friend Sharon, had it 5 weeks

after

RAI. She was waiting for her 3mo. follow-up appt and hadn't been monitored

after RAI. call your doc's answering service and tell them your symptoms. they

might want to meet you in the ER or have you come in monday. And if you're going

severely hypothyroid, it will cause TED. Either way, you need treatment.

susan, often women with breast cancer are treated with strong iodine solution,

and it triggers autoimmune hyperthyroidsim. so when you ask these patients

their thyroid history, be sure to find out if they were on iodine in their

treatment. There might be something in the way that iodine that works on

breast cancer cells that is similar to its effects on the thyroid. It inhibits

thyroid release in patients who are already hyperthyroid.
