Hi Chuck,

I think you misunderstood,,my husband WAS on Zoladex,,and after one year his PSA had dropped,,,and after a year of being off them, only then, did the PSA start to climb slowly,,first to 0.08 then to 0.42 three months later 0.52 and the last one was 0.53, so now we wait and see what happenes with his next test in a couple of weeks says. Steve, may God rest his soul, told me at that when it went up to 0.52 that he may have to go back on the hormones. I really miss Steve's imput and I want you to know I do appreciate yours. I am dreading him going back on hormones, just the way he treated me could stop a train,,he was so cold, he didn't want any part of me and I understood it was because of the hormones. It didn't make it any easier. So you see I don't look forward to him going back on them and I'm praying that won't happen. I know he would have to if the PSA keeps rising, I'm just not looking forward to it,,that's all. We are so happy now even though our sex life was very much altered by this dreadful desease. He also had colon cancer 6 years ago. Thank heavens the surgery got it all. My husband's had a bone density and that was normal. He had to have an MRI on his lower spine due to back pain,,it was a mess but there were no signs of cancer. I'll keep you posted on the results of his next PSA test. Thank you for your response. What type of treatment did you have for your prostate cancer?. My husband had first booked surgery with a top notch Boston surgeon to remove his prostate. He just wanted the cancer out of his body. We learned of many types of treatment and my husband choose Proton Beam but was told at Mass. General that his numbers were to high and that the lymph nodes had to be radiated as well,,so he went with this doctors recommendation. Have a very happy holiday and take care.

Sincerely,

Sheila
