Guest guest
Hi dear everyone, Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada. I'm not sure if it's publicly available now to the public and if yes, will a family doctor be able to prescribe it or it has to be a specialist? Thank you very much for sharing your experience. Guest guest
Sorry typo it should be Zytiga not Sytiga. Another name of the drug is Abiraterone I believe. Thanks again. > > Hi dear everyone, > > Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada. Guest guest
If it's Abiraterone, you should be OK. See here: http://tinyurl.com/79quhla It was approved in July 2011 by Health Canada. I believe that any physician can prescribe any drug. But -- IMHO -- you ought to be seeing an oncologist who understands how to treat metastatic PCa, not a GP. Where are you in Canada? I'm in Richmond BC, and would be happy to make some inquiries locally. > > > > Hi dear everyone, > > > > Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada. Guest guest
Thanks . I'm in Toronto, ON. I couldn't find any supplier in Canada to provide this drug so I doubt if it's still only available in clinic trials even though it has been approved by Health Canada in July 2011. I did find a bunch of pharmacies listed on zytigaone.com which carry this drug but they are only in US. The patient is not even in Canada. He is in China, his doctor prescribed this drug even though it has not even become available to the public (nor in the clinic trials) in the country. I'm trying to get it for the patient from here in Canada or in the US if I can find out a way to get the prescription from a doctor there. > > > > > > Hi dear everyone, > > > > > > Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada. Guest guest
Richmond, BC! Now there's a reason to pay a visit. Regards, T in Philadelphia If it's Abiraterone, you should be OK. Guest guest
With the patient in China, it's going to be very difficult to find a Canadian pharmacist who will supply the drug. Two problems: 1. The prescribing physician is out of the country; 2. You are not the patient. There are Canadian pharmacies who specialize in " cross-border " drugs -- they ship mail-order drugs to people in the US, and honour prescriptions written by US doctors. But they probably won't have abiraterone. > > > > > > > > Hi dear everyone, > > > > > > > > Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada. Guest guest
Every country will have a slightly different policy, but at ~$3000 for a month supply you need a special funding policy for socialised medical systems, or you need your insurer to agree if on another system. Best of luck my friend ! Sam. Hi dear everyone, Could any one please suggest how to get Sytiga in Canada.
