They were totally objective, had information about many illnesses that most doctors had never seen, and often never heard of, and weren't fooled by seeing 20 minor sore throats in a row into assuming that the 21st one was minor too. However, the legal liability problem prevented any companies from marketing these programs. Imagine the lawsuits that would happen the first time the computer misdiagnosed someone.
