Guest guest
I just wanted to give an update. My husband had his Davinci surgery 10 days ago, and we just had his follow up appointment. Original biopsy showed cancer only on the left side, but it was on both. It did go a little bit out of the prostate on the left, but the pathologist report said that the doc got everything. He doesn't need radiation. The original doctor told us because of my husband's original PSA was high(20), the cancer would be in the lymph nodes. Thank God, it looks like he was wrong, and the pathology report came back clear. My husband chose Dr. Yao from Palo Alto Medical Foundation and had the surgery at Stanford Hospital. He chose Dr. Yao over Dr. burg at UC San Francisco. My hubby liked both doctors, but Yao had done more surgeries and also had experience with open surgeries. Also, Stanford is much closer. I was able to go home at night and check in on our teenage kids. So far so good!
