I don't know if this is supposed to deal with 2,4,D only as it applies to corn. But where I live in Montana, 2,4,D is readily available over the counter from nearly any hardware store or farm supply store. I'm certain it's been outlawed in California....but California has outlawed nearly anything and everything one can think of. Half the things I see in the catalogs I get have a disclaimer on many items that says,"This product cannot be shipped to Calif." Jim Schwindt

Do not trust "Natural News" (or "Infiniteunknown")--they happen to be the ONLY two sites that are "reporting" on this, and they are both unreliable SCAM sites (and, I think, they are related; perhaps even run by the same guy).I hate to say it, but Mike Adam's website, "NaturalNews.Com" has a very, very bad history, certainly with regard to medical or scientific accuracy and veracity.http://scienceblogs.com/insolence/2010/06/naturalnewscom_slimes_breast_cancer_rese.php"Now, usually it's the Grand Master of Woo and Quackery himself, Mike , who really knows how to deliver the crazy quacky goods."Also here: http://breakfornews.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4299And here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all & address=222x95634#95637I've come across this guy, on-line, before. My general take on him is that he's not to be trusted. I wouldn't trust him with my life or my

health (I don't think I'd even feel comfortable letting him watch my bike for 10 minutes...)Steve S.(And, Chuck--for shame; you just cut 'n' pasted the whole darn thing, without any thought of editing, so we get to wade through all the HTML calls for the pretty flashing GIF files, etc., etc., etc. Not to even mention that the site is full of baloney)>> There is a term often used "O.M.G" which means "Oh, My God!" You have it right, Steve. You may have noticed in an email a couple hours ago that it appears many of us were hood-winked by all the hype that followed the initial statement. Seems the deregulation has nothing to do with the 2,4-D product. All DOW is asking is that a corn product of which pests cannot be controlled by 2,4-D be deregulated so, I guess, can then be produced and sold.
