Guest guest
The last time I checked….and it has been awhile – almost three years ago – Cancer Centers of America were NOT accepting Medicare Part A, which would lead me to believe they are likely also not accepting Medicare Part B. So, if making an appointment with CCA, best to make sure that whatever insurance you have will be accepted by CCA. Other than that, from all I have heard/seen on TV, they appear to have a pretty good record of care though I am not aware of the expertise of their physicians as regards prostate cancer. Just wondering if they have any different takes on treatments. Thanks,

Guest guest
:I pulled up the site --- http://www.cancercenter.com/about-us/insurance.cfm -- and they list a lot of insurance companies with a 1-800 number to call. I think in doubt make a phone callHenry/////////////////////// Goodmorning! Someone on another cancer site remarked that, Cancer Centers of America, deal with only a few insurance carriers....but did not say which ones. Two other really good prostate cancer treatment centers are, M.D. Cancer Center, in Houston,Texas. The other is, Baylor College of Medicine, Urology Department, Houston,Texas. - Spring (Houston),Texas " Duty makes us do things well; Love & Passion makes us do them beautifully"
Guest guest
Following on to that reference by Henry, for Medicare they state the following: “MEDICARESome CTCA providers have elected not to participate in the Medicare Program. However, if you are a beneficiary of a government health insurance program, such as Medicare, we’ll attempt to help you find a resource for the care you need. Consult our Resource Guide, or call us at 1- to speak with one of our representatives.” So, if Medicare is your primary, look to ’s suggestions if looking for centers of excellence….and you can go online and search “Prostate Cancer Centers of Excellence” and find several. Guest guest
> ... and you can go online and search " Prostate Cancer Centers > of Excellence " and find several. ... Following Chuck's advice, I found this: http://medicaleconomics.modernmedicine.com/memag/content/printContentPopup.jsp?i\ d=583905 Here's another very useful list from the National Cancer Institute. Most of the institutions on the medicaleconomics list are also on the NCI list. http://cancercenters.cancer.gov/cancer_centers/cancer-centers-list2.html The list is divided by state to make it easier to find one near you. It's not prostate cancer specific but it includes the hospitals that NCI thinks are the best in the U.S. for cancer research and treatment. Guest guest
Ira:Go to the web site and set your preference to "no e-mail" evidently it was changed. There are several options. You are on one to receive e-mails.Henry What I don't understand is why I am receiving these emails rather than what I used to do which is go to the web site to view messages. I appreciate the importance of the message thread but used to go to the web site to view.Ira To: ProstateCancerSupport Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 2:45 PM Subject: Re: Re: Cancer Centers of America IRA:This thread has been going on. 's response was to an inquiry as to the cost/insurance of cancer Centers Of America in relation to Treatment for Prostate cancer. This appears to be on topic to me. Maybe I do not understand what the purpose of the "ProstateCancerSupport " is ?Henry To whom it may concern. For some reason I now get responses directed to you such as the one below. If I mark everyone as spam that may hurt your web site which I am a fan of. Your help in this matter is appreciated. Thanks,Ira To: "ProstateCancerSupport " <ProstateCancerSupport > Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2012 11:52 AM Subject: Re: Cancer Centers of America I just saw on a, Cancer Centers of America, that they DO NOT accept Medicare, they will assist you in finding a treatment center that will. - Spring,Texas ' " Duty makes us do things well; Love & Passion makes us do them beautifully"
