I wouldn't put too much stock in the CD57 results - my llmd does not bother

testing for it any more because he had patients who felt great with low cd57 and

patients who felt miserable who had high cd57.

As far as being " cured " , my llmd indicated that you are never " cured " of lyme

disease - the goal of treatment is to reduce the load on the immune system to

the point where the body can handle the load on its own.

Towards that end, the currently accepted practice is to treat until there are no

more symptoms, and then treat for two additional months beyond that (assuming

that there continue to be no flare ups or relapses).

There could be any number of reasons for the other lab results that are not

necessarily attributed to lyme. That is a serious shortcoming of our LLMD.

They're not seeing the big picture. Have you had a viral panel done? As well

as organic acid testing. Could shed more light on the overall situation.

KrassI,

It's suggested that a CD57 below 100 is a sign of late stage Lyme. What I would

be checkng ( given your labs) is parasites and allergies ( foods, etc). Your

eosinophils are high.

Hope this helps!!

Yes- high EOS (my son and I have this too) mainly reflects the issue w parasites is my understanding too. I know it is frustrating w all of the treatments our boys have had. Glad his CD57 is fairly high- that is good news I think, Krassi.Maybe I should have my sons CD 57 tested. I thought they didnt like to run it on kids as it didnt mean much- but not sure.We found my son's first Zyto testing recently to be really helpful to figure out what his priorities are recently. I was even more impressed than I was w ART, but I know you've done both too. take care,To: BorreliaMultipleInfectionsAndAutism Sent: Sun, May 27, 2012 8:56:12 AMSubject: Re: Results from CD57

Thank you for all your replies, as you can see I was too impatient to hear back

from our doctor and that's why wanted to get some opinions here first. On the

other hand since all of you suggested that there is still parasites issue going

on - I am wondering if this battle will ever be successful for us? Parasites

have been showing always as one of the biggest stressors for my son and we have

been treating them since he regressed (3.5 years ago) - first few years with

only natural approach - homeopathics, all kinds of herbals and the past 2 years

more aggressively since we started Dr. K's protocol - we have tried few rounds

with all prescription medication for parasites except Alinia (for some reason

this one is not testing good for my son). I have never heard any other child

being for so long on anti-parasitic treatments and not seeing much, or are there

any other kids like our case?

Right now we are going through a treatment with GcMAF and hopefully this will

strengthen more his immune system.

Krassi I definitely empathize, you are not alone with the parasite wars! I'm

new to this group and to Lyme, and we don't even have an LLMD yet, but not new

to " biomed " treatment. We've been fighting parasites in my son for 5 years now,

with both naturals and countless rounds of meds. Lots of short-term relief, but

no long-term solutions yet, and he & I both seem to harbor a parasite(s) that no

treatment regimen has been able to touch so far. It's very frustrating.

That said, there are meds out there we have not used yet, such as Mepron. Also

we've rarely done combinations of meds, as our DAN/MAPS doc is not a parasite or

Lyme expert and doesn't tend to take that approach. So maybe the right meds are

out there for us somewhere, and for you as well! Of course it would be even

better if our kids had strong immune systems. Hoping GcMAF is the ticket for

you. It wasn't for us, unfortunately, though we did see cognitive benefits.

There is talk on the MMS group of doing a parasite protocol every full moon for

a year. Lots to learn.
