Guest guest
I'm trying to remember if we've had this discussion before. I've pretty much given up milk products, but have replaced it with soymilk. I seem to remember reading something here about soy being a possible aggravating factor in RA. Is this true for anyone here? gloria

Guest guest
Darlene, I use soymilk but try to not get too carried away with soy. Have read recently where too much soy can do something to thyroid which is not good. Have heard good and bad on soy....sort of controversial.. Guest guest
I like the original, but the vanilla is too weird for my taste buds. Women should have some soy especially after menopause. Talk to your doctor about it. Have fun, Lynette lmthib@... Guest guest
please don't think of milk and soymilk in the same invisible paragraph! LOL that's one reason it took me until I was 23 to accept my (rather terrible) dairy allergy. I was the only one snogging down soymilk as a five year old and it was foul to me then. Now i love it, but there are so many choices and much much better processing. no, soymilk is entirely different!! it has it's own flavor. if you're looking for something to put in cereal I suggest silk vanilla... although my mother prefers plain. rice milk is great, because it's lighter than anything and soy-free (for those who can't do soy) even though I've often remarked that I feel like I'm drinking dirt lol (which by the way, doesn't have to be such a bad thing! LOL) if you're thinking of getting into soymilk, try them all and chose your favorite. i've found that staying away from dairy all together is more fun for me, as I don't have to worry so much about that occasional slip-up. love to you all yellow oh and ps, i'm boycotting 'eigth element' soymilk (which my sister has told me is positively delicious) just on principle -- cause i think it's kinda tacky for them to jump on the dollar banwagon of soy at the very last instant. I think it's by kraft and i've heard it is very good. bluhhh! LOLJoyce McCrary <j.mccrary@...> wrote: Does soymilk and 1% cows milk taste much different? Guest guest
Joyce, Probably used in moderation soymilk is not a problem. I use it with wheat-free cereal and smoothies. It does taste and look a bit different from cows milk though.
