Got doxycycline today. Rash started day before memorial day. Took doctor

ridiculous amount of time to treat us (more than a week between the first visit

to waiting for blood test which was negative anyway). We live in really high

tick area! My question is has anyone used kinsiology to determine of the

antibiotic round was successful? While we were waiting for the blood results we

went to a local expert that goes by kinesiology and she found only acute stage

two (disseminated) lyme. She advised we needed ampicillin but due to all the

calls between my husband and me to the doctor's office she called husband back

not me and he did not specifically try to convince her about ampicillin. Any

thoughts? We just took the first dose of 21 days. Spoke with pharmacist about

the choice between ampicillin and doxycycline and she mentioned doxycycline was

most specific to lyme. Is that true? Is it specific to all the strains?

Thanks

I have heard of all kinds of different antibiotic combinations for

Lyme. I think for kids, Zithromax and Amoxicillan are most commonly

talked about on the forums. Google " Dr. Lyme pediatrician " to

learn what he usually does since he has treated more kids with Lyme than

any other doc, ever. I think I remember that doxycycline isn't used

until one is a certain age. I have even heard of penicillan

recommended. I can't remember ampicillan being talked about, but it's

reportedly very similar to amoxicillan. I hate amoxicillan, and avoid

it all all costs since it causes watery diarrhea the very first dose on

my family members, every single time we have tried it. Interestingly,

we react well to penicillan and Zithromax (no diarrhea, only improvements).

Love and prayers,
