Guest guest
A recent meta-analysis of 655 studies between 1966 and 2011 concluded that ‘there was no evidence that ADT caused increased cardiovascular mortality. Specifically, no excess risk of cardiovascular mortality associated with ADT was seen among men receiving either short-course ADT (>6 months) or long-course (™3 years) ADT, or in trials in which the median age of enrolment was ™70 years. In addition, the use of ADT in men with unfavourable-risk prostate cancer was found to be associated with improved prostate cancer–specific survival and overall survival.’ http://oncologystat.com/journals/journal_scans/Association_of_Androgen_Deprivation_Therapy_With_Cardiovascular_Death_in_Patients_With_Prostate_Cancer.html This contradicts what I had read elsewhere about cardio-vascular risks of ADT, so it’s really useful information.
