Thank you so much for your responses. I was giving the Custom probiotic to my

son for 2 years (the D-lactate free version) because it always tested very well

for him, plus it seems to be number 1 recommended probiotic for kids with

PANDAS. However, the last time it tested as blocking, so I stopped it, I think

his body got used to the Customs probiotic since he was on it for such a long

time. So what other good probiotic are recommended for kids with PANDAS and

clostridia? I have been giving the Saccharomyces Boulardii 1 capsule/day, but

may be it is not enough of it? How many capsules per day are required to help

with really high results of clostridia?

I have prescription for Vancomicyn but still hesitant to start it, want to try

first the more natural options and see if they help.

Thanks again for your help,

Krassi

PANDAS symptoms. Have you tried Custom probiotics? They are very potent and do n

ot have the strep strain. http://www.customprobiotics.com/  They even have a

lactate free probiotic blend

Supernatant by Bioimmersion for your kids (with clostridia and PANDAS). This

probiotic has tested always the best for my son for the past 2 years (with ART

testing, most recently 1 month ago). Before I was always hesitant to give it to

my son because of the Streptococcus thermophilus strains that it has. However,

because my son is still dealing with clostridia and since this probiotic is

supposed to be very effective for clostridia (plus I was told the Streptococcus

thermophilus is not live ) I decided to give it a try. So I started giving it 5

days ago for first time (1 capsule in the evening right before bed) and

coincidently 2 days after that my son started having some strange body movements

that he has never had before (I guess this is what they call it tics?) He

started constantly moving his head sideways towards his shoulders like touching

with his left/right ears his

> shoulders and he does it constantly - the whole day, like he cannot help it.

So I am wondering †" is this some die-off of clostridia and should I stay

longer on the probiotic or is this the Streptococcus thermophilus that is

causing the OCD/tics movements and I should stop it? I guess my question is -

how do you know when you hit the clostridia and having die-off or when things

are simply getting worse?

Krassi,

My kids ART tested for the Thorne Sacro B, 4 capsules a day (2 twice a day

with their probiotic). It has worked out well at getting rid of the

clostridia. We are staying on the Sacro B for awhile because our Dr. said

it can come back easily. Hope this helps. One of my kids did a 10 day

round of Flagyl to get the clostridia under control as well.

One thing to remember about Vancomycin given orally.  It will not cross the gut barrier, so if you decide to give it, you will only be treating the gut and not the whole body.  Have you considered grapefruit seed extract?  It is helpful in many infections.  I got rid of a super bug in my intestines by using that.  The docs refused to treat me because it was “a normal flora†bacteria, but it was over-grown in me.  I started getting better after treating that.  Now I take Tri-Guard from Oxygen Nutrition to help maintain my gut flora balance.  This has tested as beneficial for bacteria, yeast, and parasites in me.  I do pretty well as long as I take it regularly.  It tastes nasty, but I tolerate that because it is so beneficial.  It is a combination of tea tree oil, grapefruit seed extract, and colloidal gold.  That combination has worked wonders for me.
