Guest guest
My last PSA test almost doubled in 2 months. This is after surgery and SRT, so it looks like HT for me. However, the PSA test was taken 5 days after I had emergency surgery for a real bad gall bladder situation (it was totally inflamed, gangrenous, and necrotic -- it was a critical situation and I was in the hospital for a few days). But, without a prostate, is it possible that this illness influenced my PSA rise? (If so, maybe doing another PSA in 4-6 weeks before starting HT is in order?) Guest guest
I've wondered about this myself. Had surgery back in 05, undetectable PSA after. Had a colon infection with a long round of nasty antibiotics followed by surgery a couple months later. Next PSA was .07, then a series of .05, .06 .05 etc. I wonder if something fools the testing results or maybe some actual prostate cells get a boost from the trauma. I'm really dreading the HDT deal when the time comes.
