Guest guest
Just had this issue come up...switching my son's homeopathic remedy worked along with giving high dose Culturelle on an empty stomach. Plus used lauricidin and green tea extract (caps) with meals. I did not want to use the Flagyl recommended since it lowers the seizure threshold...and he is on seizure meds.JSent from my iPad Hi all, My son's clostridia markers came back extremely high (our doctor said he has very few times seen so high number, which is not good to hear) and recommended Vancomycin. However, I want to try first some natural approach and then if necessary go for prescription. Has anybody successfully gotten rid of clostridia with some specific diet/ probiotics (Sac. Boulardi and what dosage) / other naturals? Thanks in advance for sharing this info, Krassi
Guest guest
Hi Krassi - Our LLMD just told me recently that my son is now testing neg for this and was pos in the past. Never did Flagyl as recommended at one pt., however. Guest guest
Just one cap at breakfast for the green tea. Culturelle--probably about four (or more) twice a day on an empty stomach was what I did for the first few days, then cut it down to two twice a day when the symptoms subsided. I now give two on an empty stomach 4-6 times per week (when I think of it). I am no longer using the green tea. I also give the Lauricidin a few times per week.JSent from my iPad Could you let me know how many caps of green tea extract you were giving per day and how many Cultrele approximately? Guest guest
Jen, Thanks a lot for the information! Last question if you don't mind - what are the symptoms of clostridia, how do you know when symptoms subside? My son has so many different symptoms that I don't know which are from parasites, yeast, clostridia, or something else. Some of the most obvious symptoms are some mild OCD, walking in circles, very short attention span, also non-verbal - is any of this related to clostridia? How do I know when clostridia is getting under control besides testing? Thanks again, Krassi > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > My son's clostridia markers came back extremely high (our doctor said he has very few times seen so high number, which is not good to hear) and recommended Vancomycin. Guest guest
I'm guessing the symptoms vary depending on the person. My one son would just have multiple loose bowel movements per day (not diarrhea) plus crabbiness. My other son had pain within an hour of eating, would be doubled over and then have diarrhea 1+ times and then be fine...until the next meal...then the process would repeat.JSent from my iPad Jen, Thanks a lot for the information! Guest guest
I think I just googled "flagyl contraindications" or something like that and it stated to inform your doc if you are on seizure meds (which my son is)...Sent from my iPad Hi Jen I was surprised to read that Flagyl lowers the seizure threshold - could you please point me to a source for this information?
