My original biopsy showed one core positive with a Gleason of 4+3 = 7. It was done at the local hospital by

their pathologist. Had the samples sent to Dr Epstein at Hopkins. My friend's brother who is a pathologist, says Dr. Epstein is the best in the country. His report reduced the score to a Gleason 3+3. As most of you know, a Gleason 3+3 is a lot better than a Gleason of 4+3.

Don't know what to do about treatment. For a 4+3 surgery seemed the best option. Now I don't know.

Charlie, you did the right thing in getting

a second opinion. I wish more people did that. So few realize that Gleason

Grades are subjective estimates and should be done by the most expert

pathologist available. Dr Epstein is indeed recognized as one of those –
