Guest guest
I agree with you Joanne, everyone should tell their doctor what they are doing. I tell mine and he still always asks if I want the flu shot, mammogram, colonoscopy, etc. I just tell him no to everything and then I tell him what is working for me. I don’t go into great detail unless he asks, but I feel that what I say is educating him and if he wants to find out more about it, he too is able to look the information up. If I didn’t have a doctor who was willing to listen to me, I’d find another, but I must say that the past four doctors I’ve been to recently (Primary, Neurologist, Cardiologist and Physiologist), have all been willing to listen. PS: the Physiologist is a specialist in the electrical workings of the heart and I saw him because of Atrial-Fibrilation. Please keep in mind I am not a doctor and I am not medically trained, I am just a house wife. I need to tell you this because some people think that because I am knowledgeable about healing fibro that I can advise them in terms of their illness, but I cannot. All I can do is give you the information I have and then it is up to you what you do with it. Myself, I recommend that if you do want to do any of this stuff I talk about here then I think really you should speak to your doctor about it. More and more doctors are becoming supportive of alternative remedies and using diets to heal, and so rather than avoid telling your doctor I think it is much better to tell him about this. I have told my doctor and he is being supportive towards me
Guest guest
Joanne: I just joined the group this weekend. I cannot thank you enough for this extensive information. You did a fantastic job of organizing it. I found it very easy to read. Thank you! I've had fibro for 10 years now and, like many I'm sure, been through various ups and downs of treatment, research and support groups. On an upswing again and will be looking into the resources you provided. I just started looking into the trauma stuff more seriously but not sure yet about path to heal from that. Just got the book, " Healing from Trauma " by Jasmin Lee Cori which I think will be helpful in that regard. Related, I really struggle with discipline - sticking to any protocol be it nutrition or mind/body work. I think it's related to self-esteem issues. Any advice in this area would be much appreciated. From the bottom of my heart, thanks so much for the excellent information.
Guest guest
Hi,Joanne I don't have fibro but I have severe irritable bowel: elimination problems. should I do diet ketogentically then? Oh,I'm very sensitive to smells in air and I will get pain/sometimes severe when around paint, cleaners,Ciggarets ( all Forms-just smell off people's clothes make me sick) I'm purchasing a mask to wear all day and probly night. I want to share a tip. Since time is important don't lose your debit/credit card it takes week+ before card is activated. That can really put you behind if you run out of supplements! Thanks > > > Â > My understanding of all this is that before the trauma, my diet was poor and I was exposed to many toxins, the worse one for me seems to be the electromagnetisom from computers, but frankly I am like all fibro folk and I do not cope well with any toxins. Guest guest
Hi,Joanne. I'm not on bees diet or supplements but have been eating more eggs and fat. I'm on 2tablespoons coconut oil Daily and I eat red meat. I think I've been doing the eating red meat and cookin with coconut oil a year. I did do some supplements for a few monthes-magnesium/calcium/vitamin e,sea salt. I think I have a really strong addiction to no no foods. I remember in high school(I'm 24) I had pain when I typed and my hands would feel locked up,once in awhile I get the pain in a finger and need to pop it. Do you purchase the Eden 30 oz. Jars from iherb? I do and was wondering if those jars are fine to store/freeze bone broth. Guest guest
Hi Joanne, I may have to start working soon and many hours which I have problems with fatigue and Sleeping it's likely I'll get no sleep to very little.(light sleeper(also family member often gets up early screaming and slamming doors)and wake up to pee a lot) I would be working like 10hours a day on my feet. I would have to go to a very plain diet of rice chicken and a little spinach and squash because my ibs flares bad when I eat red meat/sauerkraut. Thanks > > > > > > > > >  > > > My understanding of all this is that before the trauma, my diet was poor and I was exposed to many toxins, the worse one for me seems to be the electromagnetisom from computers, but frankly I am like all fibro folk and I do not cope well with any toxins. Guest guest
Hi n, Here is a review of Meat fix book. The author's IBS went away quickly when he added meat again, and quit all those so called healthy foods. I am sensitive to chemicals, and have to be around them at work. my nose will itch really bad at certain ones. That actually is a sign my body is getting rid of it. you would really have to have a respirator type mask to keep you from breathing chemicals, but some toxins can be filtered by regular masks. Bee's group talked about this recently. http://www.fathead-movie.com/index.php/2012/08/09/book-review-the-meat-fix/ c > > > > > > Â > > My understanding of all this is that before the trauma, my diet was poor and I was exposed to many toxins, the worse one for me seems to be the electromagnetisom from computers, but frankly I am like all fibro folk and I do not cope well with any toxins.
