Guest guest
Each winter since I was a teenager I have suffered from chilblains on my fingers and toes after exposure to cold. I finally figured out that keeping my hands and feet warm in winter prevented the problem. I now live in AZ, and don't worry as much about chilblains, but I always wear gloves when its even a little cold and I make sure my feet don't get cold. So many of the postings to this list about cold induced hives sound a lot like my symptoms of chilblains. I did a web search for chilblains earlier today for the first time. I was astounded to find that the explanations in web-accessible medical info about chilblains is almost identical to the explanation for CU - as is the treatment! Do any others of you hivers get chilblains? Is there a connection? Hmmmmm.
