value of early detection & treatment

Hi all:

Here's the first of my newbie questions. I know that

with cancer early detection & treatment are very

important for improved survival. Is the same true for

RP? How important is it that you take the nasty meds

to control the ear/nose inflammation, if you can stand

the pain otherwise? In other words, does taking the

pred for mild inflammations prevent further

progression to trachea, heart valves, etc.?

I've asked my dr. this and he did not seem to know.

Of course, he doesn't seem to know much about RP in

total & thinks he is still working on my diagnosis.
