Yes. Every time I take my temperature I'm 96.7. Unless I'm sick and then I may go up to 97.8...... Bruce Moreland wrote: How did you decide that? Hi folks,

My " normal " is 96.9 and like Leanne if I reach 98.6 I'm ill. My PCP

listens when I talk and has noted in my MR what my " normal " temp is.

BTB I'm a Kaiser baby and Kaiser is converting to an all electronic

medical record keeping system. Its pretty much done actually. I am

comforted by this because my PCP always knows what is going on with

me. Second, an advice or ER DR/RN has instant access to up to date

medical information on my chronic illness or other health issues.

Hope everyone has found a cyber-cure for their cyber-hangovers from

NYE in OZ and goes on to have a wonderful new year.

Peace to all.

Seems to be very close to where a lot of us are. Funny how we learn

something every day. To those who haven't checked when they

are " well " I guess I would really suggest they do now because not

knowing their doctor could easily over look something by seeing what

they consider " normal. " I hear it now " well, you don't have an such

and such because you're not running a fever. " And one more piece of

knowing ourselves and managing our own care.

It's been a few years I've been running low grade fevers and dr's could not find the cause....they said I had

FUV which stands for Fever Of Unknown Origin. Now, I wonder with so many things that my body is going through, which disease is causing the fever...

The most funny thing of all...is when dr's ask me, so do you know what's causing your fever/infection....so I go through the list of my diseases and tell him/her, you have a list of choices choose one lol!

Yes, you do want to say " shouldn't you be telling me instead of

asking me. " We sure have a lot of Idiopathic and Unknown don't we? We

know so little about the human body and how it works and illnesses

and everything really. The way we look back at the tenth century or

so, by another 20 or 30 years I'm sure they will be looking back at

us as being olden times when medicine wasn't very advanced. Then

wonder how much that we currently say we know will be found to be

wrong. Sometimes I don't even know how I feel. It's

like...umm.....well.....oh......now that you mention it. It's like me

with a car. I know if you turn the key and it starts or it doesn't.

Wonder if like the car diagnostics today they'll be able to just hook

us up to one machine and diagnose everything?

When I run a fever it's like being cooked as a chicken in the oven or even being barbecued...that's why most of the time they do special blood tests to see if there's an infection in the blood stream.

Yes, you do want to say "shouldn't you be telling me instead of

asking me." We sure have a lot of Idiopathic and Unknown don't we? We

know so little about the human body and how it works and illnesses

and everything really. The way we look back at the tenth century or

so, by another 20 or 30 years I'm sure they will be looking back at

us as being olden times when medicine wasn't very advanced. Then

wonder how much that we currently say we know will be found to be

Well, at least they don't take it lightly. When I was young I got

allergy attacks and always hit 103 at least and thought nothing of

it, but when I was at my Aunt's she thought I'd die any moment I

guess. It was worse than the hospital in trying to sleep because

every 30 minutes she was sticking a thermometer in me to find out it

was the same thing as before. Now if I hit 100 I'm going to panic. I

hit 100.7 one night after surgery and I insisted on medication and

respiratory therapy immediately. But then next time they took it I

was back to normal.

Bruce, Leanne, Irene et all, I was told

from childhood that my temperature is lower than"normal".

I can only assume that my Dr. at the time became aware when I was

really ill but not "Hot"

I have continued that way my entire life.

A funny aside...when we were trying to get pregnant 38years ago.I had

to take my temperature ( basal temperature) to determine ovulation

immediately upon waking up...it was 91-92. The Dr.often asked me " Are

you alive?" OK...Too much information ( my kids say TMI Mom)

Z fibriotic NSIP/05

Z

fibriotic NSIP/o5/PA

And “mild”

PH/10/07 and Reynaud’s too!!

Actually I was just going to say that I almost missed a serious diagnosis because I wasn't showing a raised tempurature. Despite the fact that I was sitting by an open window in just a t-shirt 'glowing' buckets (horses sweat, men perspire, ladies glow ) when everyone else was complaining that they were cold. It took a blood test to show that I had sepsis and I should have had a tempurature that was through the roof.

Sorry about blank post. I did a " Zena " .

Why is it that somehow we feel the need to hide the fact that couples

make love and public displays of affection are looked upon

disapprovingly and even displays in front of our children thought of

as " grossing me out " but we, as a society, feel free to argue, name

call and even scream in public and where our kids are aware. ly,

I don't care how embarrassing I might have found it I would have

loved to have seen some passion between my parents and to have

actually believed I wasn't the only time they did it. I remember

plenty of fighting and arguing though. And, guess I'm just radical,

but I find even a passionate kiss in public far less offensive than

the fact that we've been at war nearly every year of my life. Oh, if

I was doing life all over and married with kids today my kids would

find me most embarrassing I'm sure, but they'd see the affection of

two people in love. (now I'm not implying seeing everything).

I must have been lucky. My parents were affectionate, though not ickily so, and they didn't argue in front of anyone.

They still didn't do 'it' though > > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > Well, actually not quite my story today.> > > > > > > > > >> > > > > > > > > > Yesterday started experiencing some lung pain and my> > > > inspired> > > > > > > > volume> > > > > > > > > > was down as were sats on exertion. And what would have been wrong if they'd been " ickily so " ? If they'd

just shown you that two people so deeply in love feel such affection

that they just couldn't hide it while explaining it wasn't something

to be taken lightly? If doing this all again, I'd be " ickily so " . lol.
