Good info on HIFU tonight. It is in FDA trials in the states. Possibly approval in 1-4 years. If you are interested in further info, go to the website http://www.InternationalHIFU.com and check it out. Dr. Bozman had gone to Cancun and observed a couple of procedures and one of his patients had it done and he observed. Another will be going in March. Procedure is not actually covered by insurance. May be able to get reimbursed, but cost is about $25,000. There are several centers in other countries nearby doing this procedure (in and out with a stay of about 6-8 hours in the hospital).
