In Mayor Giuliani's book, "LEADERSHIP", starting on page 129, he writes with detail the diagnosis of his prostate cancer, his thoughts and feelings, how he researched which route was best of him, he thoughts about the various doctors, surgeons, oncologists, etc., that he consulted and finally how he made the decision to go with radiation and then seeds. The most gut wrenching descriptions were the side effects of the hormone treatements he endured before starting the radiation. His research and efforts and conclusions were uncanny like my experiences almost a year earlier. Only difference was that I did not have to go through the hormone therapy. My battle started in November 2000. Since 2003, my PSA has been "Undetectable". Carol, I believe much can be gained from reading that events that start on page 129. He actually devotes 1-1/2 chapters to it. I met him at a book signing in NYC, in late 2002. I suggested that he and I had three things in common; Italian heritage, balding and a battle with prostate cancer. He asked how my follow up tests were and then signed the book, "To , 'Move Forward', Rudy Giuliani" . That's what I've done ! Good Luck....feel free to write me if you wish. ArcieriAssociate@... !
