Guest guest
Hi - The solumedrol is prednisone given intravenously...that's what he got in the hospital..Now he takes just regular old prednisone.....and for the ringing(actually with Pete it is " sirens " ) it is risperdal and he only takes 0.5mg twice a day...actually it is a realatively new anti-psychotic and in tiny doses I guess helps the ringing. Yes alprazalom and xanax are the samr thing. Also I should tell you that intially Pete was taking methotrexate 1 time a week and Dr.Buckner recommended we add cylosporin 100mg twice a day and that was the same time we started the risperdal.....so we really don't know which helped the most or is it a combo...............okay now that I've totally confused you I'll go...please feel free to ask any questions you may have.BTW Pete also has temporal vasculitis(at least they are 95% sure that's what it is.Don't want to put Pete through a biopsy as the treatment for that is prednisone and he takes that anyway..Take care Janet
Guest guest
, excuse my intrusion but i was reading the posts and noticed " medrol " is that solumedrol? if so thats what they gave me for my last relapse of MS to help bring me back to normal quickly, i believe that it works the same as prednisone but for me i had less side effects and didnt gain nearly as much weight as when i was on the prednisone.....although this was given to me intravenously for 10 days and then i had to " come down " off of it by taking prednisone orally......hope that helps.......
