Dear RP friends,

Welcome to all the new people in the group - I hope you find this group

as loving and supporting as I do - I look forward to all the posts and

have learned alot -

I have been on ENBREL for 14 weeks now - and - this is going well. I

have had two relapses for about 3 days each time. The ear pain will

come back and thats what I call a relapse. But it is not as severe as it

was before I went on the Enbrel. I am tapering the prednisone and am at

25 mgs now - thats down from 80mgs. I have managed to loose some

weight and some of my pred round face.

I still have other problems - like my back is aching all the time - I

started warm water - pool therapy today. My therapist is great and is

trying to help me as much as he can. I have a thought here and want to

know if anyone else has noticed this - I seem to have the most problems

with the areas of my body that have been previously injured for had

surgery. For instance - I fell and ruptured L4 and 5 about 6 years ago

and that is were that back pain is located. I also had surgery on my

left foot for a bunionectomy and that is where my foot is hurting

something awful - my rheumy thinks I may have a stress fracture related

to the disease, since there is alot of cartilage in the foot. My foot

hurts on the top of the instep and is swollen so have a tough time

wearing shoes. The bottom of my foot doesnt hurt but when I walk on it

- it feels like I am walking on wads of cotton.

As for meds - I also take Prilosec - Celebrex - 1200 mgs of calcium -

Vit C and multi vitamin in additon to Enbrel and prednisone. I do take

ibuprofen when I have headache and back pain.

For a symbol for our disease I like the moon with a beacon idea and the

color red - as thats my color!!

Hope everyone is escaping the nasty flu and colds as we have enough

problems already.

Keep praying and dont ever lose sight of the LORD - we all have a

purpose - just pay attention and you will know what it is!!! I have

become a s Minister and this is a very rewarding thing to do -

It really takes the focus away from my problems as I minister to my care

receivers. My problems seem small - ! God will guide you and show you

the way!

Pray and keep your faith strong and LISTEN - he is LISTENING TOOOOOO

Barbara from SD
