Hey Angii,

Good to hear from you and particularly exciting that you are still hive

free on the yeast free diet.

This is great news. I have been afraid to add the oatmeal, milk and rice

cakes because they do contain some yeast boosters, but I'm glad to hear

you eat it with no flare-ups. Have you ever done the challenge to see if

any of the forbidden foods cause you to still hive? I think I have a

ways to go before I dare do that again.

In the beginning I was eating tomatoes (I love them), but I felt they

were an instigator so now I only have some small pieces once in awhile

in a salad. I don't mind the taste of the plain yogurt but don't have

it very often. Are you taking any of the supplements? If so, which ones?

Is your hubby still eating the same as you or did he go back to regular

menu? Don't know if you remember Carolyn from Alabama.

She used to belong to this group and is the one that got me to

investigate the yeast theory. She wrote to me a couple weeks ago and she

is now back to eating normal and has no return of the hives. I can't

wait for that day. Elaine

Hey Elaine,

It's good to hear from you, I am glad you are doing so good. I really have not

tried adding any bad foods to see if I could pinpoint what causes flare-ups, I

am so scared

of getting hives again and not being able to make them go away. These last

three

months have been wonderful. I am not taking any supplements and in fact I have

stopped

all medications about a month ago,( I wasn't on prednisone, just all the other

H1/H2) and will only take a Benadryl occasionally when I get paranoid and think

I might feel

" itchy " .

anyway, I am glad that Carolyn is doing great, I would love to be able to eat

normal again, although I have gotten so used to the yeast free way, that it

really isnt that

much of a hardship, and the weight loss part is really great. Good luck to you,

I hope you will be able to come off the prednisone etc soon. Thank you for all

your help,

the diet has really changed my life, I had hives daily for 18 months and the

last three months without them have been heaven.
