I would like all the women who have subscribed to Prostate Cancer support lists to be aware of a new book written specifically for women who have or are experiencing personal cancer as well as intimacy issues. Ralph and Barbara Alterowitz, both certified with the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, & Therapists (AASECT), and well known for their earlier excellent publications for men with prostate cancer: “The Lovin’ Ain’t Over – The Couple’s Guide for Better Sex After Prostate Disease,” and “Intimacy with Impotence – The Couple’s Guide to Better Sex after Prostate Disease,” have recently authored and published “The Lovin’ Ain’t Over for Women with Cancer.” As noted in the attachment, former U.S. Surgeon General Joycelyn Elders’ M.D. outstanding foreword to the book highlights the benefit that women of all circumstances can get from this guidebook in transitioning to their post-treatment life. “Whoever you are and no matter what your situation may be, you will be able to find yourself in this book. The Lovin’ Ain’t Over For Women With Cancer can be viewed as a guide to better living through making informed choices regarding your relationships as well as by maneuvering some of the choices during treatment.” This book should be made aware to those many organizations providing support to women with cancer experiencing intimacy issues. If for some reason you are unable to open the attachment, visit www.renewintimacy.org. Always as close as the other end of your computer to help address any prostate cancer concerns. " What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.
