Guest guest
Gosh I love you guys! Thanks for all the responses to our clinic update. I'm going to try to fatten Allie up with real food before trying the supplements. Supplements seem to be slippery slope to me. I have also thought about our situation alot since yesterday and came to one conclusion. My father lives with us about 80% of the time. He is diabetic and in kidney failure (on dialysis). As I love to cook and bake, in the past my house has always had lots of high cal yummies like cookies, brownies, fudge etc. Dad is brutal in the willpower dept. so I have stopped having alot of that stuff around. Perhaps it's been to the detriment of Allie as this is the stuff she would choose to eat. What a predicament, but I guess the adult (Dad) is going to have to deal with it, and I will try not to feel guilty when Dad chows down on it. It will also ensure that my membership in the FAfCF club will be a lifetime one LOL. With respect to the CPT, our clinic does not support any other devices i.e. flutter or vest - it has to be Manual CPT. So, I will just continue my position and when necessary am prepared to fight for a referral for the vest. As for Christmas Parties, our clinic has one every year in a church basement (how germy is that) and it's a potluck (everyone brings food) When I met Jen she was pretty horrified that this continues, so it was interesting to me that someone else has this as well. Bear in mind, these are the same Docs that thought I was putting Allie at risk of cross-infection by meeting with Jen's clan. Makes me wonder how they justify the Christmas Party. Maybe we are just a good old fashioned (read behind the times) Canadian Clinic. Oh joy! More reasons to keep talking with you folks for the info and comparisons. Love and laughter, Mo
