Those are pretty common. I've had a couple of them for years, and then one went away. They come with aging<g>. I wouldn't worry about it.

Subject: eye problem

Hi, Gang,

Need some feedback on eye problem. For a week now, I have what eye doc has called a floater in my left eye. It looks like a black thread that moves with my eye and never goes away even if I close that eye. It stays in a relative position to the eye in the top left corner. It reminds me of watching an old movie that has little specks on the film. So, do you think I should seek another opinion or just forget about it? It is annoying and of course my eyes stay dry from the RA. I am presently taking anti-inflammatory drug and some vitamins.

TIA for any help,

Kay

Hi Kay,

Both my husband and I have had floaters over time - since he doesn't

have RA, and I had them in the pre-RA days I don't think they are

related. Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done about them

or for them. It may be coincidence, but I think they started a

couple of years before I had to go to bifocals (I've been

nearsighted most of my life). They are annoying, but seem to be

harmless.

I have many floaters in my eyes, and thought they can be annoying, apparently

they aren't dangerous. I have a very good opthamologist and he says they are

normal as you get older. I am 62 and have had them for almost twenty years.

Hi Kay,

As some of the others have said, you don't have to worry about the floaters but if you start to see streaks of light, get to a good eye doctor as quickly as

I have large clear jelly like floaters that are in a line and continuously "march" across my path of vision. I get them every couple of months for a few hours.

No migraines, just floaters in the eye. Thanks to all who responded.

Because I get them too. It's the weirdest thing -- they just move across your eye, kind of like lightening, only slow. They aren't exactly "eye migraines," but they're one of the things that signals that a migraine is coming. Not everyone has them. Also, migraine is a syndrome, not just a headache, and you can have migraines without the headache. I've had some of those.

Hi Sue,

Thank you for your response about Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS).

In regards to the eye problem, no one in my family with CMT(there are 6 of

us) has experienced this. I have learned so much about this disease in the

last few months, even though I've had it for 20 years. Just recently started

falling more often. Its ok when I'm home but a little embarrasing when out

somewhere.

My grandson (l7) keeps my spirits up. He has had surgery on his feet and

wears braces, but you never see him without his big smile. He is such a

positive

young man. The grandkids are what keep me smiling.
