Guest guest
G’day folks, I’d like to thank everyone who mailed me after my recent posting when I said I was going off for a while. Several expressed concern about my health, but there is nothing seriously wrong with me – well apart from PCa and a heart condition!! I was just a bit weary because the workload on the Yana site has been building to levels that I was finding it difficult to cope with, so something had to be done. Darryl Mittendorf may be known to some of you – his website and organisation is Malecare http://www.malecare.com/ .. Some time back, when my heart condition was playing up a little I had agreed with Darryl that he should take over the Yana site if and when I passed on and so now I turned to him to ask him what he thought the best way forward would be to keep Yana running. I knew that the site had been built rather like a somewhat ramshackle shack, since I used whatever software I could find and taught myself as I went along, but didn’t know how to improve it. The site works now for most browsers, there are some problems with others and there will be more problems in the future unless it is changed . What Darryl has offered to do is to refurbish the site, using modern software to make it easier to manage. This will be done without changing the essence of the site – to provide information, especially to the newly diagnosed, and to allow men to tell and update their stories. I am heading off to the US for three weeks next Sunday (May 2). We’ll go to Las Vegas for a couple of days then head up to Seattle to pick up a vehicle and explore a bit of Washington State and Oregon before getting home on May 25. Darryl thinks he will have been able to get the 2010 version of Yana up and running by the time I get back and if all is well, we’ll switch to the new model then. Until that is done, the site will stay as it is and it will not be possible to update existing stories or put new stories on the site. I hope everyone understands and accepts the reason for this. As far as I am concerned, my latest PSA shows another increase (anyone interested can read the details at http://www.yananow.net/Mentors/TerryH.htm ) so I’ll be back on Zoladex in June for another go at knocking these annoying cells down. Again my thanks to all for the encouraging messages – if you want to mail me with ideas about my trip, please do so Off List so that you don’t clutter up the List.
