Guest guest
I recently posted my data and the question came up as to whether the labs are reliable. My first two biopsies were performed by Medical Laboratory Associates, Inc., Seattle, WA. The same urologist in Seattle then used Bostwick Laboratories, Phoenix, AZ for my third biopsy. I moved to Spokane, and my new urologist used Dianon Systems, Oklahoma City, OK. The report from the last biopsy discussed the staining and made an argument as to why the cells in question were not adenocarcinoma. It also said my case was reviewed at the daily intradepartmental conference. All of this sounds competent and conscientious, but how would I know? How can anybody know? I am also wondering if my tissue samples traveled across the country to Phoenix and Oklahoma City, or if that is just the head office address for a local lab. Bostwick Labs were recommended, but only if the top man studies the sample. Is competence really that rare?
