Just an Idea for you. Put her scraps of papers in a picture frame with a current picture. It will mean a whole lot one day. I love things like that. Hi May,

I seem to have a problem with my mousepad on my laptop. I don't know why but sometimes all that I've typed disappears between my typing it and sending it. I have no idea where they go.

I'm seeing my GP at 5.30, I don't think it's my teeth now, I think it's the gland underneath the ear. What's your gps receptionists like? Mine don't like my gp's to see poorly people, so getting an appointment is quite an acheivement.

Love Ze xx

There was a doctor in Chattanooga that a friend of mine went to who

limited his practice to healthy people. I'm serious. If you were

overweight or out of shape or had serious medical issues he sent you

elsewhere telling you he was the wrong doctor for you.

Now, the irony is that he was also known as the " Rock Doc " as he was

the doctor who was on duty for every rock concert in town (guess high

pay, backstage, and change to mingle with stars changes your mind)

dealing with everything you can imagine but of course including

considerable alcohol and drug abuse and dangerous behavior.

Really?

Now our GP's aren't allowed to turn you away for reasons like that. But some of our receptionists are amazing. I don't think they realise that they are dealing with ill people.

I phone up I get asked if it's an emergency. Well, no it's not an emergency, I don't have a leg hanging off and I'm not having a heart attack, if I thought it was an emergency I'd get off to A & E (accident and EMERGENCY) The clue is there in the title.

Can I wait to see the doctor? - No, I know my body, I know when I need to see her.

What's wrong with you? - Do you have a formal medical qualification? If not then I don't see why I should discuss anything to do with me to you.

How about a week next Tuesday? - I'm not kidding, if you don't tell them that you are dying, you have over a weeks wait for an appointment,

This is the reason I ended up in hospital in october because it was too bloody hard to see a gp, so I had a few futile phone calls, where I felt too rough to argue, then crawled back into bed after getting Rob to bring me stuff back from the chemist.

The GP's are fine. They are good doctors. It's just getting to see them that's the game!> > >> > >> > > i'm glad you are feeling a bit better. how's the wisdom tooth?> > > i didn't watch dr who this year - i'm sure it will be repeated.> > >> > > in your msg to me you looked as if you were cut off mid sentance.> > > have you been taking your scriptions today?> > >> > > may> > >> >>

Oh, here it happens before the receptionist even. You get the %^@@! & ^^@% recordings and the first thing on them is "if this is a true medical emergency call 911". It's like there is nothing between true medical emergency and routine. What about if its urgently needed to avoid a medical emergency?

Why doesn't medical scheduling leave a couple of unscheduled slots each day for urgent and sudden calls? I'm sorry. I'm just not that good at planning my sickness ahead. When did it revolve around what made life simple for the receptionist?

Oh well, what is to be expected. My apartment lease, unlike some, can be terminated upon death but only with 30 days notice. I'm sorry that my mind is so warped, but I picture the attorney for the apartment complex cross examining my ashes in court.

Ok....a brief escape. Was just looking at these signs:

Which brings me to the second best site on line (well, of course we know what is number one).....

Well my favorite one on icanhazcheezeburger is one with a man's face

on table and he and cat staring at each other and cat in lurching

position. It's labeled " Hooman about to learn hard lesson. "

Zena,

That is your Parotid gland. Because I have Sjorgren's, I have a lot of trouble with saliva glands. I even had surgery on one side for a tumor. When those things get stopped up they hurt so bad. I have to go have mine dialated and that is fun.

Hope they take care of it for you. Usually have to see an ear, nose and throat specialist. Let us know.
