Guest guest
Hi, I went to Rheumy the 1st time in February. Although RA factor test shows negative, he's > pretty sure I have RA. > I was given the standard tests for RA from 1999-2004, always negative. I sure did have pain in my hands and feet though, redness, inflammation, let alone the " tired all the time " feeling. I was given a newer test, CCP, in May 2004. It is much more sensitive and I came back positive. Tried Vioxx for a month, Celebrex and now > he's put me on Mobic. Took it for the first time today. Has > anyone tried that? I know its a NSAID. After NSAIDs, whats next?> I opted for antibiotic therapy in June I was on Prednisone and Lodene at the time. I am off of everything now. When the weather gets damp or I get hormonal, I can have some pain so I take a Lodene or 800mg Ibuprofen, but it is on a one or two time thing and then I stop. > My whole body is aching all over.> I have had that too for so long. It hurts a lot! I so feel for you. <I know there are flare ups I hear everyone talking about. > How often do they come and go?> I think since being on antibiotic therapy I have had a couple of small flares, but they went away and were nothing like the pain I had prior to going on antibiotic therapy. I guess I am one of the lucky one because so far it is working for me. Just hope it continues. > He said RA may not show up in the blood work for awhile even if I > have it. IS that the case with any of you? > Yes, as I said above, that is what happened to me. < Also my hubby keeps saying I should exercise.> I use a recumbent bike because I have osteoarthritis in my knees so a treadmill, etc is bad for me. < I'm so exhausted and aching all over will it help or hurt? > Exercise not overdone will help a lot. <We did buy a bowflex machine> I plan to get one in December as a Christmas present to me.
