Guest guest
Hi to All, I have been reading all the post about the waves (and I can really identify with you all) and how so many of you are worried about the condition of your homes....me included ( I can be rather anal about it sometimes, but just sometimes...lol .....what do you expect with three kids !! : ) ). Just as I was reading these posts my mother sent me this poem and I thought that many of you could really benefit from reading it now. You can substitute taking care of yourself if you don't (or even if you do) have children to care for because you are all worth it !! I hope that you all enjoy it as much as I did. I have added my own version for you to get the point. I hope that this all comes out as I have typed it in my email...lol !!! Excuse This House Some houses try to hide the fact Some houses try to hide the fact that children shelter there; that sick shelter here; Ours boasts of it quite openly, Ours boasts of it quite openly, The signs are everywere. The signs are everywhere. For smears are on the windows, For smears are on the windows, Little smudges on the doors; Little smudges on the doors; I should apologize, I guess, I should apologize, I guess, For toys strewn on the floor. For the mess strewn on the floor. But I sat down with the children But I laid down by myself And we played and laughed and read; And I cried and slept and hurt; And if the doorbell doesn't shine, And if the doorbell doesn't shine, There eyes will shine instead. The heck with it, I rested instead. For when at times I'm forced to choose When at times I'm forcedtochoos The one job or the other; The one job or the other; I'd like to cook and clean and scrub, I'd like to have a home and a life, But first I'll be a mother. But first I have to feel better. ***Remember, the house is a material thing and it will still be there when you are feeling better......God does not judge us by how well we keep house. Please take care of yourselves. I would also like to thank this wonderful group of people for caring about each other and us newbies. I may be a lurker most of the time, but I hear (or read) everything that you say and it has helped me a great deal. Keep up the good work because you may be surprised at who's life you may touch. May God bless you All with good health

The odor is finally getting > out of my house, but my microwave smells HORRIBLE! I have tried everything > > janet in tulsa Try using a paste of baking soda to clean the interior - scrub it with the bspaste, rinse clean, then put some bs in a small saucer spread out for exposure and leave in the MW for a day or two. If the odor is in the exhaust venting system of the MW, try taking that same BS, incorporating it into a more liquefied mixture in a MW-safe bowl and heating using the exposure control to it boils mildly. Let it boil until nearly gone so the BS vapor moves through the vent system, but not until dry as then you'd have another mess to clean up. BTW, for those who feel this is OT, not necessarily. Many of us are highly allergic to CORN and CORN makes our RA flare. Popcorn " odor & smoke " is actually microscopic corn particles which are inhaled - a really good way to get in terrible trouble if your are corn sensitive. HTH! Guest guest
I want to affirm what Barry said about antibiotics (although every time I go on them for sinus infectiions or whatever the PA is much much improved). As a child I got a lot of bronchial infections (at 30 I was diagnosed with asthma, so suspect I had it all along) and it seemed like my mother would take me to the pediatrician with the intention of my getting a penicillin shot. I got a lot of them, at least it seemed like I had them several times a year, and my recollection was that half the time I just had a small cough. I've known of other parents of that generation who mistakenly thought antibiotics could cure anything, viral or bacterial, and would make a huge stink to get the drugs even if they were inappropriate. Thanks again to you all for the tips. I'm learning a lot here! , Los Gatos CA

Guest guest
That may be closer than you think... both diseases are well-linked to low cellular glutathione (GSH) levels and both respond to raising those levels. One reason it works for ADHD is that some of the first symptoms of subclinical toxicity are confusion, insomnia, hyperactivity...(those symptoms can arise also from electromagnetic interference). GSH is the main player in deconstituting and removing toxins from the body. GSH is also the main player in quenching free radical damage (oxidative stress) in all the IBD disorders including Crohn's. The liver, lungs, kidney, brain, and immune system all get their share before the bowel and the tissues, leading to clinical manifestations of the various bowel disorders, myalgias, CFIDS as the bowel and tissues get shorted during situations of low GSH levels. Enter the PubMed site to enter a query yourself. EXAMPLE: " glutathione AND crohn's " or " GSH AND chronic fatigue " http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi > I have decided to try the GF/CF > diet - this was initially suggested to me by a Homeopathic doctor I > see for my own problems (Crohn's disease). He told me that " ADHD is > Crohn's disease of the brain "

Guest guest
My son DJ (12yrs) was diagnosed with a C-toma in his right ear December of 02. He had the mastoidectomy on Jan 7, 2003 and a tube in the left ear. We are being told it was congenital because of where it was located. Almost 4 years of infection before a ENT finally did a CT. I always thought it was strange that he almost never had pain with his infections. Just the liquid and sometimes the frangrance would tip us off that something wasnt right. Anyway I digress. This last ENT took one look at the CT and said he needs a specialist. I love him for this. Dr. Balkany at Memorial a part of Uof Miami is one of the finest doctors I have ever met. Kind and straight to the point. Surgery went well, All went as the doc. had said it would with the best results, but he had warned us of all the possible outcomes. Modified Radical I think (wall up). They had to take the inner bones of the middle ear, but plan to reconstruct if the ear is clean and safe in 6months. Dj had all the side effects sore jaw, taste was effected, dizzy after surgery . But you know how kids bounce back, within a week he didnt want to be at home. Ready to conquere the world. There was the problem. On the second day at school he started bleeding . When I got there his ear was twice the size it had been in the morning. The incision was infected. two days later after antibiotics the ear was too. A week of meds then the docter switched to a sulfa drug after doing a culture. After 7 days of that we find he is allergic (like mom ) to sulfa. no serious reaction thank God. So now its a sit and wait game till June and July. How common is it for this to return as you get older (even after reconst.) and How common is it for it to go to the other ear. And do the tubes help not get one. Sorry so long I have gotten so much from reading these that I thought if some Mom is reading just diagnosed this might help God bless us all
