Guest guest
Hi all, Sorry to be asking this question again, but I'm just not comfortable with my doctor and am considering finding another. It isn't just the wacky stuff she wants me to do (she ordered the computer test we talked about a few weeks ago) or all the supplements she sells me everytime I walk in the door, or that if I ask too many questions, the bill doubles! I just don't feel that she's competent to treat RA - I am concerned about swelling and exercise and I can tell that she's fishing around for some type of answer to satisfy me. She doesn't know the protocol either, I had to tell her to run the MCF test. And on my initial visit, she had a CBC done, which wasn't needed and neglected to do the RF and ESR. So I ended up paying for blood tests I didn't need. And she expects me to see improvement in a few weeks on the AP!! I have the doctor list from and this doctor was from that list. It's true that she does the AP, so I am not complaining. I would just like to find someone who understands RA a little more, or at least will make the effort to learn the protocol! So anyhow, these are the other Houston doctors on it; does anyone use any of these doctors and what is your experience? Or do you use someone else that sounds better than my doctor? Gilbert Manso, M.D. Battle, M.D. Sessoms, M.D. (she's not taking new patients, but if she's highly recommended I'll try again) Thanks again,
Guest guest
, Unfortunately, most docs don't really understand RA....no insult intended to the DOCS who are on this list.....but in my experience they don't...they treat the symptoms by throwing more and more drugs at them....IMHO the drugs generally cause more problems than they fix....I stopped most of the drugs the doc had me on about two months ago....just couldn't take all the side effects anymore....I am convinced I am much better off now....I am still taking Prednisone which I would like to get off as soon as possible but right now I need it...without it I tend to swell up....the MAJOR problem I've had with that is trying to put the weight off...I haven't had the problem many have...I've only gained about 15lbs....some on this list have gained in excess of 50..... Blessings and Health Tony (Diagnosed Sero-Neg. RA Apr 99; on AP since 5 Oct 99) Meds (DR Prescribed): Prednisone 5mg daily; Minocycline 100mg 2Xdaily (generic lederale); Folic Acid 2MG per day; Prednisone 10 mg daily; Prilosec 20-40mg daily Alternative Meds/Herbs: Flax Seed Oil (Omega 3, 6, 9) 2 g daily; Evening Primrose Oil 2 g daily; MSM 2 g daily; Pantothenic Acid (B5) 2 g daily; Niacin (B6) 1 g Daily; Ginger Caps 2G daily; Ginseng 840 mg daily; Chitosan 2 g Daily; Lactobacillis Acidopholis 2 capsules daily; Vitamin E 1000IU daily; Saw Palmetto 1080mg daily; Quercetin 500mg daily; Bromelain 250mg daily; vita C 3 G daily; Green Tea at least two liters daily.
