Guest guest
I've been tested for so much, it's difficult to remember everything. Also, a lot of the tests they did run, I have no idea what they were looking for. But I do know I was tested for: cancer, AIDS, lupus, thyroid function, parasites, Human Parvovirus, allergy testing (both thru blood testing and skin testing), and rheumatoid factor. Many of the same tests have been performed several times, as well. Besides numerous blood tests, I've also had an upper GI and bone density testing. - Jackie Would you all please let me know what kind of tests you went through before your doctor was satisfied that this was just urticaria and not a serious underlying condition. _________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com. Guest guest
julia....i'm in the midst of having ever test under the sun done. I've been to lots of different doc's and they all come up with the same thing. ???????????? nobody knows. I have a high ANA count but that could be because I have hyshmotos thyroiditis. They are not sure. They've tested and retested but everything except my ana comes out normal.......so? I guess I'm just like all the rest of us here. I just take my meds and try to function. I've been very sick the last couple of months .......almost to the point where I can't work...but it's getting better. I've started taking elavil and it has made a tremendous difference. I'm not achy anymore and not quite as tired. Every day is a little better.... Hang in there. Please help with my question about your testing. > > >Would you all please let me know what kind of tests you went >through before your doctor was satisfied that this was just urticaria >and not a serious underlying condition. Guest guest
Hi-like a lot of the others, I just can't remember now all the different tests I have had. Some of them were for lupus, leukaemia, parasites, thyroid problems....they were all negative. I had blood tests, chest x-rays, pressure tests and a hive biopsy. The pressure tests proved I had pressure urticaria but none of the other tests showed up anything other than a very high number of white blood cells. ??? Hence - chronic idiopathic urticaria! Best wishes, Carol Please help with my question about your testing. > > Would you all please let me know what kind of tests you went > through before your doctor was satisfied that this was just urticaria > and not a serious underlying condition. Guest guest
I responded earlier to this on another message but I will respond again. I have been tested for mastocytosis (via skin biopsy), allergens (99 including food) and thyroid tests (t3, t4, tsh, antibody). I also had a other bloodwork done. Additional info: The doctor is baffled but pleased that I am willing to pursue this the the extent that I do. He asked me to check on polysistic ovarian disease and anthithyroid peroxidase. Wh have discussed lupus, arthritis, etc. but have mutually agreed that I show none of those symptoms at this point. The only hting I am positive for is Hashimoto's disease based on the high antibodies in my thyroid.
