“Blockbuster” arthritis drug taken off the market.

Vioxx, a leading anti-inflammatory/arthritis drug was recently pulled off the market as research has shown patients taking Vioxx were at much greater risk to suffer heart attack and stroke. An estimated 20 million Americans have been taking Vioxx on a regular basis.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Vioxx may have led to more than 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths before it was pulled from the market.
