Guest guest
So it's been cold and wet and raining here in normally sunny Southern California. I have not had a great week, despite being pretty good with diet, remembering to take drugs and exercising. Then my husband asked if the weather had anything to do with it. Duh. I don't remember being affected by the weather before, but I guess RA is a constantly changing landscape. My cousin's husband suffers from psoriatic arthritis and he actually feels better during wet weather. It's the hot dry stuff that causes him symptoms. So is there anything besides upping pain meds that helps for weather related flares? What do you all do? You'd think by now I'd have this figured out, but most of the time I just try and ignore it so unfortunately I don't always remember from time to time. But maybe it's just incipient Alzheimer's.....or having kids...... gloria
Guest guest
Gloria, Since (at least for me) weather related flares only last until the weather settles down (either steady rain or not) I just up the pain meds and hang in there. It's usually not for long enough to need to up the prednisone dose - especially as I'm trying to taper down (started at 10 and I'm now at 6. Last time I tried I didn't get any lower, so hopefully this time I can). Changing weather is a constant here in western Oregon. Hang in there - hope you feel better soon.
