Friendship can't stand too much good advice

There is a lot of truth to the old saying " Friendship can't stand too

much good advice " . And I think that this is even true when the friend

is a close family member who naturally feels that they automatically

should be providing advice. Now I'm not going to disown any of my

family, but here is some of what I'm hearing (and I wonder if anyone

else has had similar " advice " )

" Dave, what's this internet thing you're talking about? If it was any

good it would be approved. Just go to Dr.______, who did Grandma's

hip, she gets around great these days. And what's this about flying

off to Belgium or England; you're kidding of course. "

Some of my relatives say that they cannot understand why I am talking

about all this far out stuff now, because I'm usually so

conservative. Of course, this unthinking advice does make me a little

angry. I am conservative. That's why I don't want one third of my

femur removed if I don't have to. One relative does completely

support me. He says that when he sees the x rays of a resurfacing

compared to a THR it is obvious that resurfacing is the way to go.
