Just to note, my " floaters " appeared before I developed any RA

symptoms. I don't believe that one has to the do with the other at

all. Here is a decent article about " floaters " :

http://www.allaboutvision.com/conditions/spotsfloats.htm

Because floaters can be a symptom of something more serious (detached

retina), that is why I went the eye doctor. Once I checked out fine,

the floaters went from a symptom of something possibly worse, to

simply something annoying.

Just my .02

Hi Lynda, probably not what you want to hear, but, I started getting floaters &

sometimes blurry vision when on the computer after adding (raw) dairy to my

diet. I removed dairy & I haven't had any eye problems since.

Wow, Jewel,  I haven't added raw milk but my diet has changed somewhat.  That

would be a good thing to look at.  Thanks,  Lynda

similar but different is something called ocular histoplasmosis. it

is abnormal blood vessels in the retinal region of the eye appearing

as blind spots. if you're in the mid-west USA or southern Ontario

(maybe also southern plains of Canada?), this is something to take

seriously as it can cause blindness.

the initial microfungal infection is often benign and asymptomatic but

flu-like if symptoms do occur. sufferers often only detect the side

effects (of the infection) years later.

if you are doing regular optometric screenings, this can be detected

early (especially if the optometrist knows to look for it) but i think

treatment and regular followup is often done by an ophthalmologist.

I've had the same floaters since I was a kid, no change since I

started drinking raw milk, but they certainly weren't caused by it; I

was in my 40s before I sampled raw milk. Either my doctor or my eye

doctor, don't remember which, told me they're entirely normal and

benign. They don't seem to have worsened over the years and I seldom

notice them.

I think Ray Peat writes about eye floaters. I know I have read about them

recently. I'll look for it, in any case, the answer was an nutritional one.

Might be about edema around the eyes?

Here is an article on the eyes. I can't be sure it is the one that has the

info. Its still a good read.
