Guest guest
I have been on doxi for almost nine months after getting hyperpigmnetation ( Pretty severe) from minocin, I was labeled as allergic to it. I have had a ROUGH ride since starting the doxi but I am starting to feel great! An inside kinda great, not just related to the the joints. It is almost hard to explain but it is like I now do things like go play putt putt at 9:30 at night beause I feel just too good to stay in the house. I am calling my friends again ( I pretty much went into isolation for about six months when I was so sick) Mind you that that four months ago I felt like I would not be walking much longer and really had just about given up the fight. I could not even dress myself at this time without help and couldn't even get out of the tub by myself because my knees were so bad.I had to take baby steps because my feet felt like I had glass in them. I am now wearing regular shoes when I go out and I never thought I would ever be out of orthopedic shoes. I actually wore a short dress out last night with a cute flat shoe and this is the first time I have worn a dress in I don't know how long ! I am able to go barefoot pretty much of the time in the house now. Am I getting better?? YES I AM! I think that by adding Zithromax two months ago really helped. I know the doxi was the right choice for me because of the severity of the herx that I had for almost eight months. I didn't have a " joint and muscle " herx on the minocin like I have on the doxi, only a herx in my lungs. I am genuinely excited about how I am feeling. My hubby says it is so evident even in my facial expressions . He says there is a whole new look to me ( probably becuase my face isn't twisted in pain anymore!). Sorry so long but I am so jacked about how I have been feeling this week. The stiffness I used to get around 4:00 pm that would last until bedtime is almost gone. I can now get up out of a chair without having to hesitate for several minutes and wait to " unstiffen " . I can sleep through the entire night without the excrutiating pain that would happen if I move my knee or shoulder wrong that would leave me screaming in pain. I am reducing my pred by 1 mg every three weeks and so far it hasn't impacted me. I can't even tell that I have reduced it. Good luck if you take the doxi. It was the RIGHT choice for me! Oh, I do have RA. 03:17 PM 6/18/99 -0400, you wrote: " >From: dav0920@... > >Has anyone been successful treating RA with Doxycycline after >developing a sensitivity to Minocin? We rejoice so much when someone is getting along so well. Some day I hope y'all can write a letter to me rejoicing with me. Some day I hope we can all be rejoicing because we are all better. So many of your symptoms are like mine. After getting up, waiting to unstiffen, like getting out of your car etc. or a chair. Baby steps. I call it the Tim Conway Shuffle. How much Pred are you still on? Take care and keep keeping it up. Luv, Anita RA 26 years, Fibro, AP 16 months

I swtiched to Doxy and am having noticable good results with it. -- Regards, Geoff Crenshaw, ACC ---------------------- Managing Partner ** No Disclaimers ** Captain Cook's Cruise Center ---------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Over 3,000 daily cruise & tour specials > Top 5% of Web Sites http://www.800-800-cruise.com [specials] > Top 100 Travel Sites .. > Top Web Sites for Cruise tips New Zealanders http://www.800-800-cruise.com [tips] USA PH: 800-800-CRUIse PH: 559-636-8413 FAX: 559-734-1420 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- geoff@...
