Guest guest
Hi , I've asked that question as well. And I was told that US drug companies are not interested. If this is the case it may be because of money. But there are Drs here in the US who prescribe it and their patients obtain it through international prescription. It is cheapest in the UK and I have the name of a international pharmacy in London, where you can fill the rx. Mado, don't you have some contact with med rep's or pharmacies? Why don't you ask the question and see if you can get a more satisfactory answer. Thanks, Hugs, Myra
Guest guest
Hello Myran, Mado here, Barb the mountain biker I believe has contacts with med reps. I don't, but have a lot of contacts at pharmacies because I have experimented with a lot of meds and supplements prescribed by different doctors since CU started. Took ketotifen (Zaditen in Canada) for a short period of time but was unable to tolerate the fillers used. Ketotifen is not available OTC, it needs to be prescribed. I live just across the river from Canada's capital Ottawa. There are a lot of embassies there, including the US Embassy. Since US citizens live and work in the area, they must from time to time need meds prescribed by their doctors back home Don't know if a US doctor can even prescribe it cause it's not approved by US drug admin. Can someone verify whether a US doctor can prescribe Ketotifen and the patient can get it out of country? In the meantime, will call around and see if there any pharmacies in our national capital area who would fill a prescription from a US doctor. If it is possible, the cost could be interesting because of the high exchange rate on US funds and lower shipping costs than from the UK. Let me know about the US doctor being able to prescribe Ketotifen (Zaditen) and I'll make some calls to pharmacies tomorrow. I also have a friend who was in the diplomatic corps before and might be able to give me some info on out of the country prescriptions. Bye, Mado in Quebec (Canada)
Guest guest
Hello Everyone: I don't have contact with med rep's but do work at a place that has it's own Pharmacy and have consulted our Pharmacist from time to time just to pick his brain. He is fairly new to us and has yet to see me when I have a crop of hives although is familiar with my history and condition. He has provided me with information from time to time. His assistant is the one who nicknames me Spot when I have my hives. I think Myra answered the question as to why it's not available in the States and Madeline was going to contact some pharmacies to see if they would fill a prescription written by a US physician. If there are any other questions I can ask our Pharmacist send them along and I would be happy to ask him. Barb London, Ontario, Canada May the wind be always at your back. mtnbiker@... mountainbiker41@...
