Hi Jeanette! I would love to tell you the homepathic rememdy, but

there are 2 things that trouble me:

1. It may just be a well deserved remission -- these hives are

sneaky

buggers.

2. As you know from this board, everyone is unique. Homeopathy

treats the whole being to bring things into balance and allows your

body to naturally heal itself. So my treatment could be very

different from someone else who appears to have similar symptoms.

I was very lucky to have someone refer me to a " good " homeopath,

someone who had had sucess with several different health issues over

time. I imagine that finding a " good " homepath is no different from

finding a " good " Dr.

This treatment is expensive ($225 for the 1st consultation)and not

covered by my medical plan, but if it works and you feel better and

get off other meds......I actually went this route after trying the

standard routes described on this board.

I think you need to have all the medical testing first. This info is

used by the homeopath to determine treatment.

The KEY element of this approach is that the homeopath takes a

complete medical history, including questions like what foods do you

crave, how do you sleep, what are your fears, what are your pains,

describe you pains...etc. I believe that this can open discussion

for related factors that other " Traditional " doctors miss. My

initial

consult was for 2 hours to discuss my history and what I hoped to

achieve. There was also a considerable amount of time spent to

educate me on this approach, what to expect, etc. She answered every

question I had. She did not immediately provide a remedy. She

researched my conditions and consulted with others during the next

week.

She had 2 different treatment approaches when we met again. We

discussed them together. She " muscle tested " both remedies. One was

a general overall detoxing approach, the other was one directly aimed

at the hives. I chose the general detox approach as we both felt

that

getting the overall body back in balance was the best place to start,

then if necessary we would attack the hives. We also talked about

the Yeast diet and other toxins (Nutra sweet, etc.). The Homeopath

understood and stated these could be a factor.

When I met with her yesterday, she was very pleased with the results.

(We BOTH were -- truthfully we thought it would take a lot longer.

That is normal. This type of healing can be fast, but if your body

is

out of wack it takes awhile to get things working again.) We went

through the diary of what I felt, etc. and commented that the remedy

is definately still working it's way through my system. She wondered

if I could reduce some of the antihistimines yet. I told her that I

thought I might be able too, but was so very happy to have this break

from the hives that I was afraid to, for fear that they would come

back. I told her that in a month or 2 I would be willing to

eliminate

the supplemental Allegra, and even later reduce the AM dose. She had

no problem with this approach. This meeting took 1 hour (they really

spend a lot of time with you) and we didn't change anything but meet

again in 6 weeks.

Sorry this is so long, but this group seems to like the details! If

you have more questions please let me know.
