Guest guest
Hi Ruth, MTX is Methotrexate. It is a dmard (disease modifying anti rheumatic drug). In larger doses it is a chemotherapy drug. Arthritis patients take it in much smaller doses -- usually 6-20 mg weekly. take care, steph in va ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Deborah, What is MTX please? Ruth Hi all- I am on MTX and as long as I take folic acid faithfully, I am not so wiped out. MTX just does that. I can sleep twelve hours a day and feel 100 years old. Taking it along with viactiv helps. Viactiv is a chewable multi vitamin with calcium. Its really tasty and comes in flavors. Chocolate, strawberry cream, orange cream. Its more like candy. Everyone is different but folate works for me. Yours, Deborah
Guest guest
Hi to everyone.I had a blood test and came back normal with the esception of high cholestrol. I went through other tests such as sleep disorder test which show that I have a mild apnea disorder may have cause this fatigue. Now I have pain in my muscles which I don't think is Gleevec related. After reading about all my symptoms, I think I may be heading for fibromyalgia syndrome. My fatigue have stopped all my physical activity no matter what. I will discuss this with my doctor this week to see if more test is required to explain my fatigue and muscle pain before we blamed it on Gleevec. Does any one know about fibromylagia syndrome that may fellow CML? I tried energy drinks, did not work.I hardly do any activity or excersising.I am only trying to keep my full time job, so I rest weekends and all afternoon and I am still tired. I have been on Gleevec for more than 2 1/2 years. This mean side effect should be the minimum. I wonder if any one experience the same or may be my CML cells are coming back. I am not PCRU yet but my last QPCR show a slight increase .. I will see my doctor in November. I appoligize for sharing my problem with you all hoping to find answers. Guest guest
Hi: I have been experiencing unusual fatigue big time. I should check it out but I also decided to refill the potassium supplement prescription. I tend to have low potassium--one time so low the docs talked about putputting me in the hospital--which did't happen, thank goodness. I'm hoping the potassium will work, and I can forget how fatigued I was. SinSincerely, MJH Get the potassium checked > Hi, i think i replyed to you once before mentioning that i suffer real > bad from the side effects of Gleevec. Gleevec can also cause muscle & joint pain. Likewise so can CML High cholesterol? I was under the impression that Gleevec somehow has helped many patience with high cholesterol. I thought I read somewhere that it actually lowers it? Subject: FW: Fatigue Hi to everyone.I had a blood test and came back normal with the esception of high cholestrol.
