Guest guest
Pam: I know it is a shame that the children in the USA don't have the healthcare that they should. I know one of the States are trying to make it a law that every child has it, I think it is OR. Maybe if they get it , it will open the door for the other States to do the same thing. We are so far behind in health care for this country. Vera
Guest guest
Oregon now has Oregon Health Care for low income families. Jack and I feel it is a move in the right direction. There are a few towns on the coast that are having a hard time getting doctors to accept the low pay amount they get by accepting these patients. We hope this can be worked out so the plan continues. There is a measure on the ballot asking people to let the smoking settlement monies to be ear marked for the Oregon Health care plan. This would secure the plan for the future. Not everyone thinks this should happen. We will see how it comes out after the election. Some say over 50% of patients with smoking related illness are among the low income group that needs the insurance. Of course, this puts many children at risk and without medical help without the plan. I agree with Pam, 11 million children without health care is a disgrace for our great nation.
