Guest guest
Hi, I'm a new member to the group and have a couple of questions. I've been on Prednisone for 1 year and tried Methotrexate for 8 mos. It didn't work. Now my doc is discussing Kineret. Has anyone used Kineret here? I think it is relatively new. By the way, I also have Sarcoidosis - is that a common thing to have along with RA? Just wondering and hoping for some feedback on Kineret. Thanks! Guest guest
Welcome to the group. I'm not on Kineret but it is one of the older biologics (and all of the biologics are pretty new), It's usually a daily injection and on average I think is less effective than the other biologics, but for some people it is the only one that is effective. I don't know why your doctor would start with this one instead of one with a better percentage chance of helping but there must be a reason. Perhaps in his/her practice the experience has been that Kineret is better but worldwide I don't think that's the case. Unfortunately treating RA is a trial and error situation because people react so differently to medications. I hope whatever you try next turns out to be your best medicine. God bless. > > From: " Jeannie " <jeanniemalinda@...> > Date: 2004/10/14 Thu PM 09:13:19 GMT > Rheumatoid Arthritis > Subject: New Member/Kineret > > Hi, I'm a new member to the group and have a couple of questions. Guest guest
Jeannie, I tried Kineret for 3 months and it did not help me. Best of luck to you. I did not care for doing shots every day either.
