Guest guest
You know, I was always under the impression that doctors cared, that they would do research on patients, tests, etc and when they found out what a patient had, try various treatments. Since being on this list, and also doing some realizing of my own, I am of the opinion that dr's don't do much of anything. They see a patient, say yes, you have to have therapy, and once a patient is in the hospital or nursing home, they forget about them, do nothing--don't flat care. As long as they get the money from insurance and medicare, etc, they are happy to claim the patient. There is so much information on this list that is easily accessable to dr's, but seeing all the people in nursing homes, I just know in my heart that the bare minimum is being done for most people. Very disheartening.
Guest guest
Just one other idea on research that may not have been discussed previously: The internet is a great source of research and many have used metacrawler or google or other search engines to look for MSA related articles. But more is being added to the Internet daily. Here is how to monitor it daily for free. Go to this site, http://www.peacefire.org/tracerlock/. It allows you to enter a search or search terms and then it will search the internet daily and send you websites via e-mail. I have set up a search on Shy Drager and get a few articles every day. Hope this helps.
