Guest guest
Pam, The voice recognition systems (software) are okay, but they " learn " your voice pattern by you reading a lot of info into the microphone over a period on about 30 minutes. If you make voice or reading mistakes during this period, you have to go back and read much of it over. Charlotte could not get it to understand her at all and Anne complained about the same problem. I only got an 83% myself. I do not think it will work for any patient who is having speech problems. There are keyboards out with large keys. We are trying to get one of those for Charlotte. There is a question as to whether it will work on a 486, and she does not want to learn new programs (all of her programs run on MSDOS 6.11). However, maybe she could talk to the caregiver and they speak to the computer. The software does not like background noise however. Catch 22!!!! Take care, Bill and Charlotte Pam Bower wrote: > --- Pam and the group > Date: Wed, 20 Dec 2000 16:05:22 -0600 > > To: " Pam Bower " > References: <003e01c066ec$1e53d760$6423059a@pambowerhome> > > Hi Pam and all, > I have a client who is interested in joining this support group.
